Lindsay, from Dallas-Fort Worth, revealed on her TikTok page that she was enjoying an evening out when two women suddenly approached her.
The two strangers then handed Lindsay a folded note.
The strange encounter has since gone viral on the social media platform, garnering over 400k views and comments from users.
Watch the video below: In the clip, Lindsay explained that this was her third date with the man in his 50s and that it was going well, with plenty of laughs and some public displays of affection.
That’s when two women approached her, complimented her appearance, and handed her the mysterious note. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, f***,’” she recounted. “What does it mean?”
The content creator was curious but cautious. She partially opened the note, saw the words “Just no!” and tucked it away in her purse.
Lindsay, who is in her late 40s, didn’t read the full message until a trip to the bathroom later in the evening. “Just No! You can do better,” the note read in full.
The message sent her mind into overdrive. “I’m like, did he do something when I went up to go to the bathroom? Did he hit on them? Do they know him around town?” she speculated.
Or, she wondered: “Were they just being girls’ girls?”
Many viewers took to the comment section to interpret the cryptic message as a warning.
“Have you ever written a note to someone? No? There is your sign. He’s [red flag] emoji,” one user said. “We don’t pass notes unless we are warning you,” another chimed in.
“They either recognized him from the night before on a date or are aware of his reputation. They warned you out of recognition,” a third speculated.
“I don’t know more of a blatant sign than a literal note being passed to you. What would you tell someone you loved?” a fourth added.
Lindsay hoped her viral video would reach the two young women, who were likely in their mid-twenties.
On Friday (January 25), the creator sadly shared in a follow-up post that she hadn’t heard from the note’s authors, but she decided to confront her date.
He claimed he didn’t know the women, but a string of “drunk texts” he later sent sealed his fate. Lindsay ended the relationship.
Viewers cheered her decision. “I’m so glad you dropped him. I was invested! Keep standards high; men will always bring you down to their level,” one viewer commented.
