Tragic reports have confirmed how dozens of people were left injured after a chairlift ended up derailing at a ski station in Spain.
Thirty people were said to be injured in the incident during the morning hours at the Astun Ski Resort in the heart of the Aragon Valley in the northeastern part of Spain.
Seventeen of the victims were said to be very hurt and others are still clinging on to a cable. Five helicopters and a dozen ambulances were sent to the resort to transport those injured to nearby hospitals.
Several chairlifts at the resort were said to have fallen down to the ground and nearly 80 people were still trapped inside.
One skier who witnessed the horror unfold shared more on the incident and how they were grateful to not have fallen down to the ground but many fell and got serious blows to the face.
Another witness shared more on the matter including how they were flung into the air as the chairlifts jumped up and down. Sources are still investigating the incident that is believed to have taken place when the cable became so loose that all the chairs began bouncing and more people were flying.
