Following the tragic death of Jeff Baena, Aubrey Plaza and her family have issued a statement.
Baena, 47, celebrated for his distinctive storytelling and creative vision, was found deceased at his Los Angeles home, which he shared with his wife, actress Aubrey Plaza.
The LA County Fire Department’s radio call, obtained by The U.S. Sun, revealed that a unit had been dispatched to a Los Feliz residence.
His body was discovered by an assistant at 10:25AM and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have confirmed that Baena died by suicide, with the exact cause reported as hanging.
In a joint statement with Baena’s family, released Monday, Plaza addressed the devastating loss.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” the statement read, as reported by the New York Post.
The tragic news has left family and friends heartbroken.
Baena’s brother, Brad, expressed his heartbreak in an Instagram comment under a tribute posted by actor Adam Pally. “I am broken,” Brad wrote.
Baena carved out a remarkable career in the world of independent film, directing notable projects such as Life After Beth, Joshy, and The Little Hours.

His journey into filmmaking began with studying film in New York before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his passion.
In 2004, Baena co-wrote the critically acclaimed I Heart Huckabees, collaborating with a stellar cast that included Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, and Naomi Watts.
Baena’s directorial debut came with the 2014 zombie comedy Life After Beth, featuring Plaza in the lead role.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and showcased Baena’s unique blend of humor and horror.

Plaza and Baena began dating in 2011 and quietly married in 2021 after a decade together.
