Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has publicly weighed in following a controversial gesture her father made during President Donald Trump’s inauguration rally.
Musk was seen slapping his chest and extending his arm in a manner that many interpreted as a Nazi salute, sparking widespread debate.

The incident has drawn reactions from various quarters. Progressive politicians, including New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, condemned the gesture, stating, “If you’re cool with the sieg Heils and the Nazi salutes, whatever you want to do, that’s on you, I’m on the opposite side of that. I’m not with the Nazis.”
In contrast, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) suggested that Musk’s action was “an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute … mutual understanding during this period.
Wilson, who severed ties with Musk in 2022 and legally changed her name, took to Threads to express her thoughts. She wrote, “I’m just gonna say let’s call a spade a f***ing spade,” urging people to acknowledge the gesture’s implications.
“Especially if there were two spades done in succession based on the reaction of the first spade,” she added.

“I don’t know why ya’ll are reacting with such vigor, I’m clearly only talking about card suits,” Wilson said.
“I mean I have ADHD and this was CLEARLY just an accident that people happened to interpret to mean something other than just card suits. After all, there’s no proof I’m not just talking about card suits,” she joked.
“People assuming that I’m not just talking about card suits just goes to show how dishonest people/the media can be.”

In a final post on the matter, Wilson added: “For those who can read between the lines, do y’all understand how f***ing easy this is to do? Plausible deniability honey. Just saying.
Wilson, who is transgender, also took to Threads to respond to Trump’s executive order rolling back protections for the trans community.
“I want every single trans person to read this document,” Wilson said on Tuesday, sharing a link to the order. “It is important to understand what we are fighting against and the shamelessness of their hatred.”
Musk himself dismissed the backlash, referring to it as “legacy media propaganda” and commenting that the “everyone is Hitler” attack is “sooo tired.”
This event has intensified discussions about public figures’ responsibilities and the interpretations of their actions in politically charged environments.
