The wildfires have left a trail of destruction across some of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods since igniting on Tuesday (January 7) morning.

Six different blazes – including the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hurst Fire, Kenneth Fire, and Lidia Fire – have scorched the city, forcing nearly 180,000 residents to flee as dry, hurricane-force winds hindered firefighting operations and spread the fires.

Thousands of people – including some of the nation’s most high-profile celebrities – have lost their homes, businesses, and personal belongings.

Among these celebrities is Paris Hilton, who revealed earlier this week that she watched her Malibu home burn “to the ground” while watching an ABC News livestream.

On Thursday (January 9), the 43-year-old took to social media once again to open up about her home, which has now been reduced to broken-down infrastructure and ash.

She wrote about the emotional toll of the tragedy in the caption, describing her feelings as overwhelming.

“The heartbreak is truly indescribable,” Hilton wrote. “When I first saw the news, I was in complete shock — I couldn’t process it. But now, standing here and seeing it with my own eyes, it feels like my heart has shattered into a million pieces.”

Check out Hilton’s post below:For the reality TV star, the loss extends beyond bricks and mortar.

“This house wasn’t just a place to live – It was where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family. It was where Phoenix’s little hands made art that I’ll cherish forever, where love and life filled every corner. To see it reduced to ashes… it’s devastating beyond words,” she shared.

“What breaks my heart even more is knowing that this isn’t just my story. So many people have lost everything. It’s not just walls and roofs – it’s the memories that made those houses homes. It’s the photos, the keepsakes, the irreplaceable pieces of our lives,” she added.

While devastated, Hilton acknowledged how fortunate she feels to have her family, baby, and pets safe and unharmed. “I know I’m incredibly lucky,” she said. “That’s the most important thing, and I’m holding onto that gratitude with everything I have.”

The mom-of-one expressed her gratitude to those risking their lives to battle the fires. “I’m holding onto that gratitude with everything I have. And beyond grateful to all the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers risking their lives to fight these fires,” she penned.

She also thanked her supporters for their support during this difficult time, saying: “To everyone who has sent love, prayers, and kindness — you’ve reminded me that even in the ashes, there is still beauty in this world. Thank you from the deepest part of my heart.”

Hilton concluded her post with a poignant reminder about the fragility of life: “Let this be a reminder to hold your loved ones close. Cherish the moments.”

“Life can change in an instant, and it’s the love we share that truly matters. I’m sending all my love to everyone who is hurting right now,” she added.

According to CNN, the Palisades Fire – which destroyed more than 21,000 acres – is at least 8% contained but is now moving east, with civilians in Encino, West LA, and Brentwood under new warnings or orders.

Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire in Altadena is 3% contained, with firefighters reporting favorable conditions overnight.

Devastated by the loss of her own home to the wildfires, Hilton has launched an emergency fund to support displaced families. The entrepreneur announced a personal donation of $100,000 and pledged to match donations up to an additional $100,000.

“While I’ve lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost so much more – their homes, cherished keepsakes, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability,” she wrote, per The Guardian.
